3 Ways To Create A Graphic Backdrop
It is important to have a backdrop system for your trade show booth or sales presentation that can be easily and economically updated. You will also want to control transport and assembly costs. A design concept that has prohibitive costs attached to it won’t be satisfactory no matter how professional it appears. An appealing and versatile concept that can be used in all sorts of places will help control costs too.
Classic Pop-Up Display
Standard graphic popup displays are very popular and are usually found behind the podium at most conventions, special events, or announcements. The width of a Standard popup displays ranges from 8′ to 10′ and the height is approximately 8′. Traditional popup display systems are often used when the event is short term or when it involves a series of announcements where the presenter moves around from location to location.
The collapsible structure of a popup display is generally crafted from fiberglass or aluminum tubing. The structure is wrapped with prepared display panels. The panels are either materials which are specially treated to accept velcro-ready graphics or the panels themselves are printed graphics which are attached directly to the frame. Graphic panels are usually made from a lexan material such as Duralex, and are printed in full color and finished by laminating or otherwise coating them for protection.
The frame when set up has dimensions of 8′ (or 10′) wide by approximately 8′ high. It can then fold down to dimensions of about 8″ square by 30″ wide. Due to its stability, when unfolded it does not require any anchors or other supports to enable it to sit firmly on the floor. Normal weight is close to 15 lb.
The panels that cover the frame are about 30″ wide by 8′ high. They are normally adhered to the frame by means of magentic strips applied to their back surface. Once the panels are applied to the frame the display gains even greater stability. When they are taken off the frame, the panels are flexible enough to be rolled up so they fit in the lightweight carrying case. The carrying case also serves as a shipping case.
2. A Popup Fabric Wall Display
The fabric display represents an evolution of the popup. It uses the same kind of folding frame as the standard popup display. But it does not need additional graphic panels, or a mechanism to attach them to the frame.
Unlike a standard popup display, the printed graphic remains attached to the frame. All the presenter has to do is remove the unit from its carrying case and unfold it to create a highly professional backdrop. The fabric used is both durable and flexible, so it unfolds to a nice smooth surface. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.
Similar to regular popup displays, fabric displays also come in 8′ and 10′ widths. They are also available in narrower 4′ widths that can be used where space is at a premium.
A fabric display or “fabric wall” as they are sometimes called is essentially a billboard-in-a-bag. It knocks down into a nylon duffel for easy transport. Setting it up or taking it down can be done by one person in about 5 minutes.
Fabric displays are perfect for new product intros, event marketing, lobby signs, virtually anywhere you need to make a big statement. They are normally printed with a process called dye-sublimation where the color is transferred right into the fabric. That makes them very stain and scuff resistant and guarantees that they will retain their striking appearance for several years. The quality of the full color printing is usually surprisingly sharp and brilliant.
3. Fabric Banner Backdrop
The Fabric Banner Backdrop is a low cost solution for creating a graphic wall for the back of your trade show space, behind a speaker’s podium or on a stage at a convention, conference or sales presentation.
The adjustable tubular frame of the fabric banner backdrop ranges in width from 3′to 8′ wide, and between 4′ and 8′ high. There are other larger frame options, but the fully extended 8′ x 8′ is the most popular model.
A one-piece fabric banner printed in full color is hung on the frame using pole pockets at both the top and bottom, while the frame rests on the floor. Though this method is slightly more complicated to put together than a popup made of fabric, the costs are cut nearly in half. It’s also more dynamic than the other banners because the size of the frame is adjustable and the printed banner can be changed fairly easily if you need to modify what it says or how it looks.
Don’t buy a fabric popup display until you see our prices and quality. Ideal for your conference, convention, sales presentation, band, or trade show booth. SEO strategy works.
